Established by a team of committed, experienced, and highly recognized communicators and researchers in 2014, Communications and Research Initiative-Nepal (CRI-Nepal) is a development communication consultancy firm that specializes in developing communication plans and strategies for large-scale infrastructure projects and conducting critical research on various aspects of infrastructure development. This firm collaborates with infrastructure project management, relevant government agencies, international agencies, and the private sector to create a favorable environment for the development and implementation of infrastructure projects supporting effective communication with relevant stakeholders. Conducting research on various issues on the implementation of transformative infrastructure projects and recommending policy and legal reforms for creating enabling environment for promoting private investment in infrastructures, especially hydropower, transportation, agriculture, tourism, information technologies, and industry. It also produces and disseminates print and audio-visual materials through various media outlets to support the delivery of infrastructure projects by creating a positive vibe among people about the economic significance of such projects. To fulfill its objectives, it collaborates and partners with development agencies, the private sector, government agencies, media, political parties, and people’s representatives, among other relevant stakeholders.

Objectives
• To attain excellence through effective communication by supporting development projects for maintaining smooth relations with stakeholders by developing and executing communication plans and strategies
• To conduct quality research in the socio-economic and development sector to explore challenges and opportunities for necessary actions from relevant agencies
• To create a positive vibe through the public campaign for unhindered delivery of the development projects in the country

Areas of works
To achieve the objective, CRI-Nepal offers consulting services, research/study, and campaigns in the sector of development communication, public sensitization, public communication, stakeholder engagement, public relation, infrastructure communication, corporate communication, media study, research and analysis, and capacity enhancement of relevant stakeholders, promote the use of new communication tool for public communication, and governance.
Key areas of work involve:
a. To conduct research on the investment, economic opportunities, and problems, as well as lessons learned in infrastructure sectors including hydropower, agriculture, transport, tourism, information technology, and industry.
b. To forge partnerships and collaboration with national infrastructure projects and relevant agencies to create a favorable environment to develop and implement such crucial projects to support maintaining good relations with stakeholders including local communities, government agencies, political parties, people’s representatives
c. To launch awareness and promotional campaigns in collaboration with various stakeholders to create a positive vibe for the speedy delivery of infrastructure projects in Nepal
d. Conduct study and offer necessary recommendations for policy and legal reforms for promoting infrastructure investment and resolving outstanding problems in the development and implementation of infrastructure projects in Nepal
e. To prepare Stakeholder Engagement Strategies/Plans for infrastructure projects, corporate houses, and Non-governmental Organizations and support them for effective implementation of such plans
f. To carry out interactions, discussion programs as well as other engagement activities at federal, provincial, and local government to secure their support for smooth implementation of infrastructure projects
g. To produce media materials including news, feature, case studies, audio-visuals, info-graphs, best practices, lesson learns, and field reports, and disseminate them in mass media (print, broadcast, online news portals) about the positive socio-economic impact of the local level to the overall economy by infrastructure projects in Nepal
h. To collaborate with international agencies, government agencies, NGOs, private sector, and other professional organizations to promote good business practices including ‘Green Investment’ projects and the human rights economy
i. To collaborate with projects and relevant agencies for training, seminars, and educational visits will be conducted for stakeholders to establish positive perceptions among them about infrastructure projects and economic benefits including employment, business opportunities as well as various aspects of infrastructure development.
j. To conduct public sensitization activities to promote the significance of infrastructure development in Nepal through advocacy, training, seminars, and workshops at federal, provincial, and local levels targeting key stakeholders through mass media and social media
k. To promote the concept of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) to encourage private investment in transformative infrastructure projects
l. To support the private sector and government agencies to develop stakeholder communication strategy/ plan
